Margaritaville at Sea Shore Excursions in Cozumel

We’ve sailed on Margaritaville at Sea’s newest ship Islander multiple times. The top question we get from fellow cruisers is: “What shore excursions do you recommend?” Since most of Margaritaville at Sea Islander itineraries visit some combination of Cozumel, Progresso, and Key West, we’re sharing our favorites in each of those ports. Let’s take a look at Margaritaville at Sea Shore Excursions in Cozumel.

Don’t forget an Excursion Backpack to hold your towels and belongings for your excursion. You can see our favorite on our Cruise Essentials page. We don’t cruise without this collapsible, travel-friendly backpack!

Recommended Cozumel Shore Excursion

Margaritaville at Sea Islander has a LOT of Cozumel shore excursions to choose from. In fact, there are so many that it can be a little overwhelming. That’s why we were so thankful when our cruise director Zee-Jay recommended her favorite to us: the Deluxe Beach, Sail & Snorkel.

This 4-hour excursion has something for everyone. We saw all ages on the excursion – from young kids to experienced cruisers. Regardless of age and ability, everyone seemed to have a really great time.

Snorkeling

The excursion starts out with a catamaran ride out to a snorkel spot. Honestly, we’ve done a lot of snorkeling, but this was the most fish I think we’ve ever seen. The fish were literally swimming into us! When the guides said we’d have 45 minutes of snorkel time, we honestly thought it was going to be too long. But with all of the fish and awesome sights, the time flew by. Super happy with this snorkel site!

Some folks decided to get back on to the catamaran early. And some decided not to get off at the snorkel spot at all. Those that stayed on or got back early relaxed with the catamaran to themselves taking in the sun and cool breeze.

Included Drinks

After we were done snorkeling, we got back onto the catamaran where margaritas, beer, and sodas were being served. From the snorkel spot, we made our way to a private beach. The margaritas, beer, and soda were served at the beach bar as well. And just like on the catamaran, beverages were all included.

Private Beach

On the beach, there were lounge chairs, umbrellas, day beds, and hammocks. If you wanted to keep the adventure going, there were kayaks, paddleboards, and an entire activity park in the water! They also had food for purchase (a burger for $12). We skipped the food as we knew we’d have a Cheeseburger in Paradise once we got back on board.

We loved our free time at the beach. During our time, we enjoyed the lounge chairs, went kayaking, and were giant kids on the water trampoline and water slide. Adults and kids alike were having a great time.

Catamaran Ride Back

Once our time on the beach was over, we all boarded the catamaran and enjoyed an amazing sailing back to port and our ship. The drinks continued to flow, the music played, and the sea breeze was just amazing. Some folks laid out on the top deck of the catamaran while others danced to the music down below.

Honestly, no one wanted to say goodbye and leave the catamaran. It was such a great experience and we’ll definitely book this one again on a future trip to Cozumel. We shared a quick 1-minute video at the end of the excursion:
